Hi Everyone!
Many of you know that I almost spent last Christmas in the Hospital because a cold set off my asthma. I dealt with the aftermath of that episode for 6 months before I was back to “normal” with being able to breath. So, when it’s that time of year when everyone and their mother is sick I am on high alert and I don’t mess around. I keep items I may need on hand, because running to the store when your sick just spreads the problem. That’s why I try and take preventative measures to help fight off any illness that myself or my family may come in contact with.
As many of you know I am Pregnant and I have consulted with my doctor about what I am and am not able to take. However, I still wanted to share with you what my Husband (and myself absent being pregnant) would typically do. Plus, I wanted to share items that you may want to have stocked up on hand prior to getting sick. Here’s What I keep on hand!
What Do I keep on Hand?
Emergen-C Immune+®: My tried and true product is Emergen-C Immune+®. I love it so much because it supports your immune system with the key nutrients your body needs, such as Vitamin D and Zinc. Even more, every Emergen-C Immune+® formula is packed with Vitamin C. I love the High potency Vitamin C and antioxidants to support immune function.
Lipton Daily Support Herbal Tea: There is a really good tea as well, it’s the Lipton Daily Support Herbal Tea. There are a couple others in their wellness range but my Husband likes the Lipton Daily Support Herbal Tea. The Lipton Wellness range helps make wellbeing a part of your everyday routine. It is an excellent source of Vitamin C, this herbal infusion helps support your body’s natural defenses.* Carefully selected botanicals are blended with green tea and natural essential oils that make every cup delicious.
Robitussin® Maximum Strength Honey Cough & Chest Congestion DM: With Robitussin Honey you can fight your cough and help kick your symptoms to the curb. The liquid-strength of Robitussin Honey soothes on contact and provides cough relief for hours. I love that it has real honey, no artificial colors and is a True Source Certified Honey.
Theraflu Power Pods Nighttime Severe Cold: Colds always seem to be worse at night (at least for myself and my husband) so it’s great that these pods make it quick and simple to get relief. There is also a Daytime version. Don’t let the cold or flu get in your way. Theraflu Power Pods Daytime Severe Cold fits right in your routine. Compatible with most single-serve coffee makers, these fast-relieving pods work on even your most severe symptoms. Press. Sip. Relief. Remember, Theraflu Power Pods Nighttime Severe Cold and Robitussin ® Maximum Strength Honey Cough & Chest Congestion DM should not be used at the same time.
Abreva® Pump Cold Sore and Fever Blister Treatment: This is a good item to have on hand if you suffer from cold sores. Proven to heal cold sores & shorten the duration of pain, itching, burning, tingling. Abreva is not for temporary symptom relief, but healing. It delivers the best results when used at the first sign of a cold sore (e.g. the tingle that one feels on his/her lip).
There you have it, now, where is a good place to get all of these items? Well, if anyone followed me way back in the day you know I love Kroger. They recently remodeled the one I shop at (Yay!) and I was happy to see how easy it was to find everything. Kroger is a destination for all of my flu needs!
