Hello Everyone!
My daughter absolutely loves Moana (more specifically Maui). So I wanted to share my Moana Birthday Party decorations we did with all of you. Obviously we are huge Disney Fans if you didn’t catch that from this post, this post, or this post. So when it came time for a Birthday Party theme, Moana was fitting. We only have to watch the movie at least 4 times a week, but lets be real – it can be closer to once a day some weeks. (If I’m being really honest we’ve watched the movie two times in one day before.)
It only makes sense to have tropical themed party in the dead of winter – bringing warm thoughts to thaw out the deep freeze. Come on Moana Themed Birthday Party – work your magic and melt away the snow! (I’ll sit here and wait – I clearly live in the wrong state)!

Moana Birthday Party Decorations
The Cake:
First off I made our own Moana and Maui Cake. I have this thing with making my daughter’s birthday cakes, You can see her First Birthday cake I did here. Or even her first year smash cake I did here.
We used these cake toppers (which she actually got for Christmas) for the figurines. The video below will show you how I made the cake. To make the sand look on top I simply used Brown Sugar.
Moana Flower Garland:
I also had some Flower garland that I hung over the windows and walkways. You can find the garland here. If you get it, just know it is SUPER easy to tear – but also SUPER easy to make. It will arrive flat and you will think ‘ugh how on earth do I make this!?’ then you open it grab one side and let the other accordion itself to the floor and Voila! Flower garland in less than 5 seconds!
High Chair Decorations:
This is often overlooked. But, I’m a photographer at heart so I always think ‘How will this photograph?’ We decided to put Baby girl in a High Chair just for space and functionality reasons (Usually she’s in a booster). So I of course wanted to have the High Chair look pretty. For this party I went with a tiki like skirt around the tray of the High Chair. We got a Tiki Skirt of large green paper leaves from Party City but hindsight something like this would have worked just fine and been much cheaper! I’m sure you could find some cute one’s on etsy too.
Moana Party Decorations:
Of course we needed the typical party decorations that were Moana themed. So we picked up these Paper plates, napkins, table cloths and cups.
Also these Moana spirals we put all around the house.
We got streamers (green and blue) and of course Balloons!
At the time I had to purchase everything separate, however as I’m writing this post I found a Moana Party kit here that has almost everything I purchased all together and its a lot cheaper than purchasing individually!
You can also find a lot of cool Moana Decorations like this on Etsy, we got out invitations for the party there!
Customized Poster
We also ordered this poster with Baby Girl’s name and age on it. I will say she thought this poster was so cool! We had to leave it up for about a month.
Other Moana Party Supplies
We had some other Moana themed birthday supplies as well. Like these stickers and of course the Heart of Te Fiti Necklace!
I also made sugar cookies and put a green swirl on them (becuase then they are abviously Heart of Te Fiti Cookies!) You can see them in the Vlog below!
Overall I think the Party was a Huge success. Baby Girl had a ton of fun and was so excited to have everything Moana and Maui themed!
Hopefully our party helped give you some ideas for your own! Let me know what you ended up doing in the comments!
