Hello Everyone!
Last months theme for Glossybox was Jet Setter! It had most of the essentials you would need for a quick little weekend jaunt or full on family vacation. Here’s the best part, everything was traveled themed in one way shape or form so even if you didn’t have any getaway planned it was kind of like a vacation in a box.
I did receive this box at no cost in exchange for a review and this post does contain affiliate links. This doesn’t impact my opinion on the box or products. I always will give you my honest opinion on anything I share with all of you.
Without further ado, let’s jump into this box!
Glossybox Unboxing – May 2018
I absolutely love the packaging of Glossybox! The box itself is something to write about. It is so cute (and sturdy) I need to figure out how to use these boxes somehow because they are honestly so sturdy I don’t want to just toss them.
Proenza Schouler – Arizona Eua De Parfum
This is a perfume that just makes you think of the desert when you smell it. It includes the scents of white cactus and creamy orris (which, thanks to some online research, I can conclude is the root of a flower). This is the debut scent from Proenza Schouler and was actually inspired thanks to the ravines and ridges of the Sonoran Desert Horizon. I can say they hit the nail on the head with this one. It smells fantastic and the second you smell it – you immediately think of the desert.
This was a fairly large sample size at 0.17 fl. oz. With a full size product being 1.7 fl. oz. and costing $100.
DHC Skincare Deep Cleansing Oil
This is a facial cleanser that has olive oil in it. One thing it does say is that is can melt away makeup, even waterproof mascara. I don’t ever use waterproof mascara, it did a decent job at helping remove my eye make up, but it didn’t get everything off. If I’m being honest nothing I have ever used gets it all off the first time. It usually takes me a couple washes to get all the makeup off. Olive Oil is supposed to do wonders for your skin but obviously it does leave your face feeling oily (it is in the name). So obviously washing this off is something you will need to do.
This was a sample size at 1 fl. oz. The full size product is 6.7 fl. oz. and cost $28.
John Masters Organics
These two items are what I am most excited about in this box! There is an Evening Primrose Shampoo that is supposed to help with dry hair and a Lavender & Avocado intensive Conditioner! I fried my hair about a year ago after a highlight gone horribly wrong and am still dealing with the fallout. It has started to get better with a few products I tried. However, nothing has “fixed” it completely. This may be why I am so excited to try this!
These are both sample sizes at 2 fl. oz.
The Full size shampoo is 8 fl. oz. and cost $16.
The Full size conditioner is 7 fl. oz. and cost $22.
Laritzy Cosemetics – Shade Stick
This is basically a bronzer in a stick. Its a buildable cream you blend with your fingers that gives you the sun kissed glow everyone wants! I have always used just a plain old bronzer powder and have never used it in a stick form before. It does seem to be more dramatic than the powder I use, so I basically just use less than I first anticipated needing. It is in the color Aloha and so far I am a fan of it. I am by no means the queen of contour but this definitely can help define what I want defined while allowing for a sun kissed glow all at the same time.
This is a Full Size product that normally cost $24.
Tree Hut Moisturizer with Sunscreen
Sunscreen is a must when traveling so it makes sense that a moisturizer with sunscreen would be included in this box! It is 30 SPF and includes rosehip oil, carrot seed oil, and sea buckthorn. All of which are known to help improve your skins appearance while at the same soothing and delivering vitamins and nutrients directly to your skin.
This is a Full Size product that cost $14.99.
Overall Thoughts on my Glossybox Unboxing
Glossybox definitely stuck to the jet setter theme very well for this box! The product was either perfect for travel or instantly made you think of a travel destination when you saw/smelled it. I like that there were 2 full size items and the rest of the box was pretty good size samples. I would consider them more along the lines of travel size versus sample size. I haven’t tried the shampoo or conditioner yet but so far love the bronzer stick and the cleansing oil! Overall I am very happy with the box.
Glossybox is $21 a month and if you purchase more than one month at a time it becomes slightly discounted. I do think you get the value with each box. Just the full size Laritzy shade stick is $24 so, this month, you get more than the value of the box right there!
